Download our best data of Comet C/2023 A3 for free

Dear friends of Hellas-Sky! Two months ago, there was a bright comet visible in the evening sky shortly after sunset. It was the long-expected comet C/2023 A3 Tshuchinshan-ATLAS. Unfortunately, in many locations the real window to take pictures of the comet was very small. First, the comet fainted quite quickly; secondly, the weather in many regions of Europe did not support observations. We, however, managed to capture some nice frames of the comet from our location in southern Greece during the week after its reappearance on the evening sky. The data was taken with our Celestron RASA36 f/2.2 with a QHY600 Color camera. We thought it might be a nice idea to put the best data online for downloading. This enables you to create your own Christmas star. You will find the data in the download section below. The format of this data is a bit different from our usual data sets. It takes into consideration the different technique necessary to produce a nice comet picture. We offer you ten pre-calibrated frames with exposure time of 30s taken over a total period of six minutes. This approach minimizes the movement of the comet against the background. The data is not stacked as you might use different ways to combine and stack the frames.
