Sh2-232 (Pumpkin Nebula) Project for PixInsight (SHO+RGB stars)
€99,00
Pixinsight Project:
This product allows to follow exactly the processing of the data set in PixInsight performed by digital creator and astro photograph Omar Cazzanti.
You need to save this product to your computer, unzip the compressed file. Please open the project in PixInsight using the function Open > Load project. You will see the master light files opening in the work space. On the right hand side you will see all used process icons to process this data set. All process icons contain a description explaining the respective process steps.
Please be aware that this project consists of two work spaces. In workspace one the rgb stars are being extracted from the RGB image. In work space two the SHO image is created and the RGB stars integrated.
You need to purchase the parent product (sh2-232 in SHO+RGB) together with this add-on product!
Requirements for using the project (Sh2-232)
The project uses some third-party processes, not included in the PixInsight installation. These are:
• NoiseXterminator (noise reduction);
• StarXterminator (stars removing);
• Narrowband Normalization (balancing of intensity between narrowband channels)
The first two processes are part of the RC Astro suite. They can be obtained, in both trial and paid versions,
from www.rc-astro.com. Full details on registration/payment procedures and PixInsight configuration to
obtain the processes are available on the website. To use the project as is, we recommend downloading
the trial versions of the two processes mentioned above, if you don’t want to purchase them immediately.
Once used, if you decide not to purchase them, you can always replace their use with that of other
processes.
The third process can be install by adding in the repository list of PixInsight (Resources -> Updates ->
Manage Repositories) the link https://www.cosmicphotons.com/pi-modules/narrowbandnormalization/
For noise reduction, alternative methods such as the TGVDenoise process, the
MultiscaleLinearTransformation process, or the MureDenoise script (menu SCRIPT -> Noise Reduction) can
be used. For star reduction and deconvolution, the MorphologicalTransformation and Deconvolution
processes can be used appropriately. Since we don’t want to demonstrate their use int this place, please
refer to the official documentation or videos available online.
